Virginia Tech is one of four official scholarship offers for Jake Skole , a talented athlete out of Blessed Trinity Catholic in Roswell, Georgia. The 6-1, 188-pound rising senior, a free safety and wide receiver on the gridiron, sparked Tech’s interest early on in the recruiting process.

“Virginia Tech’s coaches watched film and he has a good highlight film,” Blessed Trinity head coach Ricky Turner said. “The film shows how athletic he is out there and Virginia Tech really liked it. They offered him early and he was very excited to get the Virginia Tech offer.”

East Carolina, Maryland and South Carolina join Tech on the official offer list, with Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Stanford are among the programs that have expressed serious interest according to Coach Turner. There does not appear to be any favorites at this point.

“I think he wants to look at all of his options,” Turner said. “He hasn’t had the chance to visit places because of baseball, but he will visit some places this summer. Right now, we’re letting him focus on playing baseball for us. When the season is over, he’ll sit down and figure out which schools may be a good match for him with football and baseball.”
