Jerrodd Williams Enjoys Tech Visit

6-1, 185-pound cornerback Jerrodd Williams looked forward to last weekend’s official visit to Virginia Tech for a preview of what is to come over the next four or five years. The Daniel (Central, S.C.) star senior, a commitment to the Hokies since last June, did not leave disappointed.

“The whole weekend was great,” said Williams, an athletic prospect with sub-4.4 speed in the 40. “I loved getting with the guys and just hanging. They told me what to do there and what I need to do to get on the field quick. It was a great experience. It made me feel that I did choose the right college.”

Tech cornerbacks Stephan Virgil and Eddie Whitley kept in contact with the Palmetto state star prior to the trip, so it came as no surprise to hear that the two players spent quite a bit of time with Williams over the weekend.

“Going up there, I already knew those two guys,” Williams said. “Hanging with them the whole weekend, they showed me how cool they are and how they are down to earth. They said they’ll look out for me and take care of me when I get there. They’ll do whatever I need and that made me feel good. Stephan, Eddie, Lorenzo [Williams], Ryan Williams, Dyrell [Roberts]…all of the people I came in contact with made me feel at home.”
