Maury (Norfolk, VA) safety/wide receiver recruit Laroy Reynolds entered Virginia Tech’s camp on Saturday with high hopes with regard to landing an official scholarship offer. The 6-1, 207-pound rising senior has not picked up an offer from the Hokies just yet, but he hopes to find out more about where he stands later this week.

“Before the camp, Coach [Curt] Newsome felt like I would pretty much have an offer after the camp,” Reynolds said. “I think I did good. I think I showed them a lot. I thought I had a good day. Hopefully, this coming week I will get an offer. Coach Newsome told me to give him a call back this week.”

Reynolds recalled his camp performance, which he felt went well.

“I did everything,” said Reynolds, who didn’t know his 40-yard dash time but says he ran the shuttle in 4.27 seconds. “Basically, they wanted to see combine skills and athletic skills on the field.
