Tomorrow night, 6-2, 235-pound Jake Johnson will suit up for the Stafford Indians (3-6), likely for the final time in his high school career. Johnson’s senior season has not gone as planned in terms of wins and losses for his team, but he has continued to play hard and certainly has a lot to look forward to in his future.

“Really, we haven’t had the best season in the world,” Johnson said. “It is not what I thought we would have done. We have won some games, but we haven’t played as well as I would have thought. We do have North Stafford left on Friday. That is the ‘Battle of the Bell’ game. There is this old bell we play for. We have never won it as long as I’ve been here. Hopefully, we can sell out and win it.”

Individually, Johnson is pleased with his performance. He has primarily been a big-time playmaker from the middle linebacker spot, but he has also shown well at outside linebacker and feels as though he has improved his pass rushing ability. But, at Virginia Tech, he projects to play the Mike linebacker position.
