Buddy Ruff last visited Virginia Tech in the ninth grade and he doesn’t have a clear memory of what his initial Blacksburg experience was like. He and his parents visited Tech this past Friday, though, and came away with a positive feeling.

“All of the coaches were cool,” Ruff answered when asked for general impressions of his experience at Tech. “Coach Wiles and Coach Newsome are friendly guys. I saw a practice and I liked it. Overall, it was a good experience.”

Prior to his visit to Blacksburg, Ruff had stated in other reports that UVa was at the top of his list. Did Virginia Tech unseat the Cavs at the top?

“To me, right now they are both on the same level,” Ruff said of Virginia and Virginia Tech. “I talked to Coach Foster and he showed how much he wanted me to come up there, so that was good. Right now, they are about even. I haven’t put any school above any others, really, but I have been to Virginia more. I plan on visiting a lot of schools this summer for camps and things like that.”
