North Carolina Tailback Picks Tech

Virginia Tech received a commitment today from running back Josh Oglesby, a 5-11, 205-pound standout out of Garner High School in North Carolina. Oglesby announced for the Hokies today during a 1:00 p.m. press conference at his high school. He chose Tech over offers from North Carolina State, Wake Forest and, most recently, UNC.

A running back and fullback for Garner last season, Oglesby rushed for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. Versatile, he caught 230 yards worth of receptions as well. A safety on defense, he tallied 45 tackles and made three interceptions.

Oglesby worked out at running back at Virginia Tech’s senior camp and tested very well, posting a 40-yard dash time in the 4.4s. He is being recruited by Tech strictly as a running back and says UNC, N.C. State and Wake all like him as a running back/defensive back.

Oglesby is a 3-star recruit and the #29 player in the state of North Carolina by Rivals.com.

TSL hopes to reach Oglesby later this afternoon for comments on his commitment.
