Before his official visit to Virginia Tech this past weekend, Elan Lewis had stated that he was considering other schools such as Virginia, Maryland, N.C. State and Tennessee in addition to the Hokies. After making his commitment, Lewis let it known that the Hokies may have been his leader throughout.

“I was thinking about doing it coming into the visit,” Lewis said of committing to Tech. “I’d say I started really liking them a while ago, when they came in to talk to me. I was open-minded when I talked to them and it seemed like they were talking real to me. They kind of grew on me. I really liked Coach Beamer, and I liked them ever since.

“I’m happy with my decision. No second thoughts.”

Lewis spent time with two former Phoebus teammates over the weekend. Xavier Adibi and D.J. Parker served as his hosts for an official visit experience that would give Tech a commitment from one of the top tailbacks in the country.
