Bruising 5-11, 220-pound tailback prospect Shane Brooks received quite a few phone calls since September 1st. One school who has not yet touched base is Maryland, who Brooks lists as one of his top schools. His other favorites have contacted him however.

“Virginia, Wisconsin, Pitt, Missouri, Connecticut, Syracuse and a couple more schools have called,” Brooks said. “Coach Rocco called from Virginia. He asked me how my first game went. He told me to keep doing what I’m doing and to stay focused in the classroom. He told me to tell them whenever I thought about taking a visit and they could set something up.”

Virginia remains the top school on Brooks’ list.

“My favorite schools are Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Pitt, Missouri and I’m starting to really like Akron too,” Brooks said. “Virginia still has an edge. When I went down there, I felt real comfortable with everyone. I liked the coaches and I liked the weight trainer. I liked what he was telling me about training in college.”
