Harrisburg (PA) tailback Mikell Simpson may be ready to make his first cut of potential schools. The versatile 6-1, 185-pound back could have narrowed his list to just 10 schools by the beginning of next week.

“Next Monday I should have my top 10,” Simpson said. “Basically I’ll narrow it down based on my own research. I don’t know right now who will be in there. I’m getting in contact with as many coaches as I can to see where I stand with each of them.

“After my season is over, I will narrow my list to 5 and set up official visits. I’ll probably decide on Signing Day unless something happens on one of my visits.”

In our last update, Mikell had just received a qualifying SAT score of 890 to go along with his 2.8 grade point average. Ever since he made the qualifying score, he has seen several more schools pick up their recruitment.
