West Charlotte High School (NC) cornerback prospect Rod Council may have narrowed his list down to two schools, according to West Charlotte Head Coach Pete Gilchrist.

“Rod’s probably down to Virginia and Virginia Tech,” Gilchrist said. “If he goes away from home, he’ll go to Notre Dame, but I feel like he wants to stay close to home. He realizes he can get the same education he can get at Notre Dame closer to home. Both Virginia and Virginia Tech offer similar attributes athletically, academically, and socially as Notre Dame. I think it’s down to Virginia and Virginia Tech.”

Council has taken official visits to Virginia, Notre Dame, and Michigan. He has been to Virginia Tech twice, once for the Nike Combine and again for the Miami game. He will make an official visit to Blacksburg this weekend.

“He leaves tomorrow morning for Virginia Tech,” Gilchrist said. “This is something that was just set up recently. We lost last week in the playoffs, so that’s why it worked out this weekend.”
