Chris Coleman: I want to answer this question without spending too much time on it because a coaching hire could get announced at any point (and I’m sure it will come at 4:55pm today, since it’s Friday, and I’m ready to end the week and go to Happy Hour, but I digress…)
Brent Pry has options. Tyler Bowen coached both tight ends and the offensive line in his career, and Stu Holt coached tight ends. In fact, before arriving in Blacksburg, Holt spent the previous three years coaching the tight ends at Louisville. Bowen was the offensive line coach at Fordham, and he also served in that role at Maryland. He actually played offensive line for the Terps.
That means that it’s not set in stone that Pry will hire like-for-like replacements for Brad Glenn and Joe Rudolph. It’s possible that he could shift Bowen to offensive line coach and Holt to tight ends coach. That would leave openings at running back and quarterback.
