Virginia Tech redshirt freshman defensive tackle Bryce Goodner entered the transfer portal on Friday morning, per his own announcement via Twitter.
I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, and my coaches for supporting me. Having said that, I’d like to announce that I’ll be entering the transfer portal pic.twitter.com/AScSK6WQSr

Goodner came to Blacksburg from Athens, TN as a member of the 2021 recruiting class. He redshirted last season, and was switched from offensive guard to defensive tackle midway through spring practice under new head coach Brent Pry.
Goodner indicates in his departure message that he considers himself an offensive lineman at the college level.
Pry knows what he’s doing. Bye bye.
Hope things work out for him.
This was a strange / interesting position change. Don’t you more often see DL who aren’t quick enough moving to OL? Or is/was that more in VT’s defensive scheme?
My question too. He was either moved to DL to fill a gap or he is more explosive than originally assessed and can therefore play DL, if the later then we lost a good talent if the former … that isn’t too surprising
