From the very beginning, you got the sense that Dematrius Davis was going to be different. Here’s a quote from his dad in an article by Jason Stamm…
“We won’t get the publicity that the regular Texas guys get when they go to Texas A&M, Texas, or Baylor, but we’re not looking for that attention,” Davis Sr. said. “That was part of the process. We don’t care about the attention and the hoopla that comes with a close school. We just wanted somewhere that’s a family-oriented place, small and that plays some good, old-fashioned football.”
Well, now, after decommitting this morning, Davis is projected to go to Auburn, where they will fire you a couple of years after winning a National Championship. Auburn is as cutthroat as it gets, and outside of Bama, Clemson, LSU and OSU, playing football at Auburn is as public as it gets.
