  1. I remember that morning, walking from Lee Hall through Campbell Hall (being told that men weren’t allowed in the building at that time of day) across the Drill Field, through Davidson to Robeson for 9 am class. When I got there, the GA told me and a student from Australia that class was canceled. So I walked back to Lee which didn’t have heat until 8-9 that evening. That was the day that presidential inaugural parade was canceled and Reagan was sworn in for his second term indoors. I drove back to campus from Southside VA which had 8 inches of snow earlier that Sunday and once I got to Appomattox on 460, there was no snow on the ground. That was the coldest day that I experienced in Blacksburg.

  2. Absolutely remember that weekend, and yes I walked across from drillfield during that time….ugly!!
