Four-star defensive end Savion Jackson (6-3, 245) has already visited Virginia Tech twice. The Class of 2019 prospect was back in Blacksburg on Sunday for Virginia Tech’s first junior day of 2018.
Alongside his mother, Jackson, ranked as the 14th-best prospect in the class by 247Sports, visited Virginia Tech for the third time in his recruitment. It was a visit that gave him a better feel for the coaches and a better look at how he might fit in.
With 17 offers, Jackson (Clayton, NC) has plenty of information gathering still to do and he has another junior day set in two weeks that could also further shape his recruitment. But his stop in Blacksburg yesterday already provided plenty of insight.
“The first time I went was with my coach,” Jackson said. “It was just a spring practice. The second time was a game. I had never been to a game. The reason I came this weekend was my mother hadn’t seen Virginia Tech in depth. We went and just looked at the places, talked to the coaches. Every time I go, it’s a good experience. I like the coaches and the field there, too.”
