The 2017 football season ended earlier than Bishop Sullivan (Va.) defensive lineman Adarious Jones would have liked. In early September, the 6-foot-3, 277-pound prospect tore his left ACL in practice, which cut his season short.
Jones, rated as a 3-star recruit by Rivals and 247Sports, is back on the mend. But the injury is likely why he has only four offers thus far — Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Wake Forest and Florida Atlantic. Still, he’s made the most of his time off the field and this spring, Jones has visits coming that could help his recruitment take off.
Jones’ injury came after Bishop Sullivan’s second game, against St Frances (Md.). Jones said it was tough to sit out while the Crusaders finished 6-5, though he tried to make the most of it.
“You’ve got to work,” Jones said. “Injury doesn’t matter. I’ve had serious injuries before. It might have helped me out. I got stronger and my upper-body is stronger. I got a chance to get my grades where they need to be. It really didn’t set me back. It really helped me out actually.”
