Two more Virginia Tech targets are set to announce their college choices. Below is the basic info on those prospects, and this report will be updated as they commit.
– Ricky DeBerry Jr., OLB/DE, 6’3″, 245 pounds, Atlee (Mechanicsville, VA)
DeBerry, a 4-star recruit, will announce around 10 am at his high school. The senior has 8 finalists: Alabama, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Virginia Tech’s chances are considered low, but DeBerry has not publicly eliminated any of the final 8.
UPDATE**: DeBerry committed to Oklahoma
– Nyheim Hines, All-Purpose RB, 5’9″, 180 pounds, Garner (N.C.)
Hines announces around 3 pm. Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, NC State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia are the finalists.
Tech stands a better chance with Hines than with DeBerry. If you go by the 247Sports Crystal Ball feature, NC State is the favorite. We’ll find out for sure this afternoon.
UPDATE**: Hines committed to NC State
Which will it be? I will be making my decision Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Garner High School gym at 3:00 pm pic.twitter.com/fvwM1RrvXO

We are no longer one of the prettier girls at the dance. That will not change until Coach Beamer retires, and Whit brings in a dynamic new recruiter/head coach. Time to bend the curve upward.
Neither was expected though both were hoped for. Good luck to both.
Whiff!

Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain. I’ve spent some time there, and didnt love it. It’s an acquired taste, and not a very cool culture in my humble opinion. Interesting to see how he fits in there. He would’ve been happier at a Carolina or Virginia school.
Unless he wanted to win consistently.
