The Spring Game is always a positive selling point for Virginia Tech’s football program. Recruiting-wise, the staff has sprinkled in a couple of junior day events already this year, but tomorrow’s event still figures to be an important one.
We expect a solid turnout of recruits and will provide more visitor info as we get it. I’ll update this article with any new additions and then provide an update on those confirmed visitors over the weekend, but in the meantime here is a rundown of those prospects expected to be in Lane Stadium tomorrow.
Adonis Alexander

Class of 2015, VT OFFER
Virginia Tech is currently the only major conference school to offer the big (6’3”, almost 200 pounds), physical safety prospect out of Charlotte.
Felton Davis III
Wide Receiver, Highland Springs (VA), Highlights
Class of 2015, VT OFFER
Davis’ first true visit to Virginia Tech came not too long ago, on March 29 to be exact. The 6’3”, 185-pound rising senior returns tomorrow for a follow-up.
In addition to Tech, Davis has visited Virginia several times. This could definitely end up being an in-state battle, but the Springer standout does want to explore out-of-state opportunities that currently include Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin. At this point Davis has not revealed any favorites.
Tremaine Edmunds
Outside Linebacker, Dan River (Ringgold, VA), Highlights
Class of 2015, VT OFFER
Edmunds is a versatile 6’4”, 215-pound prospect with the physical and athletic potential to play outside linebacker, tight end or defensive end on the next level. The younger brother of Trey and Terrell Edmunds, Tremaine is high on the Hokies but is also considering other schools such as Maryland and North Carolina strongly.
Dimitri Holloway
Safety/Linebacker, Heritage (Newport News, VA), Highlights
Class of 2015
Holloway has not been offered by Tech as of yet. He’s a versatile defender with a 6’3”, 200-pound frame. Whether or not he gets an offer this weekend remains to be seen, but he plans to attend regardless.
Harry Lewis
Defensive Lineman, Phoebus (Hampton, VA), Highlights
Class of 2015, VT OFFER
The Phoebus standout is impressed with Tech but is also considering many other scholarship offers, including Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, N.C. State, Penn State and Virginia, among others. Lewis is listed by some sites as a defensive end but likely would be a defensive tackle for the Hokies.
Mook Reynolds
Cornerback, Northern Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.), Highlights

Reynolds wanted national respect and now he has got it, having earned an invite to The Opening, an invitation-only event featuring top prospects across the country. He has also earned new offers, including one from Tennessee. Reynolds maintains that he is committed to Virginia Tech and I think he is very solid, though he is at least listening to what others have to say.
Reynolds likely will be joined in Blacksburg by teammate CJ Freeman, a class of 2016 running back who has been offered by Virginia Tech. The duo has visited Virginia Tech together twice already this year. Tech is considered a favorite for the standout rising junior.
Darrell Taylor
Defensive End, Hopewell (VA), Highlights
Class of 2015, VT OFFER
Taylor has seen his recruitment take off this week with new offers from Florida, Miami, Michigan and Tennessee. The 6’4”, 220-pound rising senior previously held scholarships from Iowa, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.
Taylor is high on both Virginia Tech and Virginia but names no favorites and is interested in exploring out-of-state schools as well. His cousin, Tabyus, signed with Tech in the 2014 Class.
Isaiah Zuber
Wide Receiver, Stephenson (Stone Mountain, GA), Highlights
Class of 2015, VT OFFER
Zuber reportedly will be in Blacksburg tomorrow. He also has reportedly named Virginia Tech as his favorite. If the 6’0″, 170-pound rising senior makes the trip, he is one to watch in terms of a possible commitment.

I’ve seen the Beamer quote something like this “If we can get them [the recruit] on campus, then we have a really good chance of signing them.” Any TSL stat check on that?

The only problem is that only 1 of the Rivals Virginia Top 10 will be in Blacksburg for the Spring game. Many of them were at the Junior day but I would think the SG would be a big selling point.
Not only CFB, but people have been saying that for years and back when the ‘Bamas, UF’s, FSU’s, LSU’s, UGA’s, OSU’s, Michigans, etc. of the world were not recruiting VA athletes it was true and worked fairly consistently. In today’s real world, when the recruits are on campus, they love it but once they leave it and the Mighty-Mights of the world come calling, they seem to forget about what they felt when they were there. The difference is, those of us that went there never forget!!
That Alexander kid just likes to hit… His hands could be better, but he looks like a force against those seam routes. Hope we lock him before more offers come in.
Regarding Mook, I don’t get how why don’t get more the top cbs to commit to Tech considering our strong track record developing them. Fuller obviously signed with us due to the family linkage.
