Virginia Tech has become known for their ability to land a lot of in-state
players. Frank Beamer has built a program around recruiting kids from the
Commonwealth of Virginia. A look at the current Hokie roster, particularly the
starting lineups, points out just how
extensive Tech’s in-state ties are.
This article will take a closer look at the different regions around the
state that the Hokies recruit, and how they compare to each other. It includes
data on every scholarship player from Virginia on Tech’s roster, including
incoming freshmen. Former walk-ons, such as Orion Martin, are not included.
Virginia has been broken down into several regions. Here is the list, with
the number of players from each region included.
