Romero Working On Transition To LB

Phoebus (Hampton, VA) junior Daquan Romero dominated at defensive end as a junior last season, racking up 19 sacks en route to earning Peninsula District Defensive Player of the Year. The 6-2, 215-pound standout is mostly projected as a linebacker on the college level, however, so getting comfortable with his likely future position is an offseason priority.

Romero participated at linebacker in last Saturday’s Nike Camp at Virginia Tech.

“I felt okay with my performance,” said Romero. “I felt like I could’ve did better. I feel like I can settle in at linebacker. I felt comfortable in all the drills. There are still some things I need to get used to or learn because I don’t know linebacker that much.”

A tough, hard-nosed competitor, Romero is willing to work to learn linebacker.
