Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA) junior Michael Cole received big news last week, when one of the top schools on his list extended a scholarship offer. The 6-2, 200-pound linebacker/safety, who now has three FBS scholarship offers in the fold, does not plan on committing soon but is pleased with the new offer.
“I was informed by [Cave Spring] Coach [Tim] Fulton [last] Monday that Virginia Tech was going to give me an offer,” said Cole, who believes he is being pursued by Tech as a Whip linebacker. “It’s exciting. They did say it would be a grey-shirt offer because they have limited scholarships. That’s not final and it could change, but for now they are offering me as a grey-shirt.”
Virginia Tech is currently one of the top two schools on Cole’s list.
“I’m very happy and very excited about the offer,” Cole said. “I’ve always been a fan or a follower of Virginia Tech. It’s exciting. I also have been offered by Duke. Tech and Duke are high on my list right now. I’d say they are about even.”
