It may be tough to justify in just one game all of the accolades one has received, but Brian Cushing certainly did so in Bergen Catholic’s 31-6 victory over Teaneck 2 weeks ago. The 6-3, 220-pound linebacker made an astounding 32 tackles and 5 sacks in the win, showing why he is rated as one of the country’s top players.
“I don’t know how I made that many,” Cushing said of his tackles. “I played everywhere on the field.”
Five lucky schools have made the final cut for the talented blue-chipper. All 5 are recruiting him to play linebacker on the next level. There was some talk that safety was a possibility, but it appears linebacker is now Cushing’s projected spot by all 5 schools.
“I have,” Cushing replied when asked if he had narrowed his list to 5. “It’s Notre Dame, USC, Miami, Louisville and UVa. They are all recruiting me to play linebacker.”
