Freedom (Morganton, NC) cornerback Jordan Hemby went relatively unnoticed during the Spring evaluation period. Therefore, once the summer camp circuit came around, the 5-11, 185-pound prospect knew he had to make a big impression in order to receive scholarship offers.
“I was just thinking I would go in there and do my best,” Hemby said of his thoughts before going to summer camps. “Hopefully I would come out with a scholarship, but if I didn’t, I’d keep trying my best.”
Hemby’s first stop was at Clemson University. He admits he was slightly nervous at first, but calmed when it counted the most.
“For the first one, I was kind of nervous at first,” Hemby said. “It was the first camp I’d ever been to at a college. Everybody looked really good, so I was thinking I would try my hardest. Once they started doing testing, I started loosening up some.”
