One of the ways the Hokies can get their fan base excited again is by winning games in Lane Stadium. That has been a major problem over the course of the last few years. It all began early one evening in October of 2013 when something happened that I (perhaps arrogantly) assumed would never happen: Tech lost to Duke in Lane Stadium.
Virginia Tech suffered through a tough 2012 season, going 7-6. The 10-win season streak ended, the Hokies did not compete for a Coastal Division Championship, and they had to rally from a 10-0 deficit late to beat Rutgers 13-10 in the Champs Sports Bowl.
