Virginia Tech Basketball To Play Washington in Atlantic City

Virginia Tech men’s basketball will face Washington in Atlantic City on December 15 as part of a college basketball quadruple-header, according to Jon Rothstein.  Other games in Atlantic City include Iona-Princeton and Temple-Davidson.  Tipoff time and television coverage have yet to be determined.

The Hokies faced the Huskies in Madison Square Garden this past season, beating them 103-79 in a game that was not as close as the final score indicated.  At that point in the season Washington was considered one of the Pac-12’s worst teams.  However, they went on to become a bubble team for the NCAA Tournament, and they eventually landed in the NIT.  They finished the season 21-13, while Virginia Tech went 21-12.

Tech will also play in the Gildan Classic in Charleston, SC from Nov. 15 through Nov. 18.  Other teams in that field include Appalachian State, Alabama, Ball State, Davidson, Northeastern, Purdue and Wichita State.
