It’s late April and the spring game is in the past. That means for Virginia Tech football, the attention has turned to recruiting. Not too much is happening right now with on-campus visits not being allowed for high school recruits at the present time, but it will start heating back up again in late May.

Today, we’ll cover a few different recruiting topics that may be of interest. Later in the week, we’ll go over some of those official visit days for the summer.

Alton McCaskill To Visit Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech will get a visit from Houston/Colorado transfer Alton McCaskill (6-1, 200), according to Pete Thamel, though I’m not sure what date that visit will take place. He previously visited UCLA.

McCaskill is an interesting story. He had a great true freshman season at Houston in 2021, but since then, an injury and a transfer have derailed his career. Here’s a year-by-year look at his numbers:
