1) At what point do we panic about Vance Vice as a coach and OL recruiter? If I recall, Vice doesn’t have a territory and is solely responsible for recruiting offensive lineman. We’ve been VERY slow even with the new staff to offer offensive lineman and have had basically no success. This class is shaping up to be a disaster on the front five in an area we are desperate for an uptick in talent. Is it time to panic? – reece4vt

Chris Coleman: No, it’s not time to panic.  First off, the Tech staff is very lukewarm on the talent in the state of Virginia right now.  They offered Mekhi Becton and Tyran Hunt, but they aren’t completely sold on both guys, particularly Hunt.  I’m not even sure he’d be a “take” if he wanted to commit right now.  His recruitment has cooled off, and not just his Virginia Tech recruitment.  Becton is a big kid with a huge frame, but they aren’t sold on his feet from what I hear.  That’s why you’ve seen the Hokies go out-of-state so much this year, and going out-of-state will typically take a little longer.
