Virginia Tech’s 2016-17 basketball season begins tomorrow night when a 9pm tipoff against the Maine Black Bears. This is easily the most hyped basketball season the Hokies have had in a long time, and they are hoping to get off to a strong start.
There are several things I want to discuss today. We’ll spend a short time talking about a possible starting lineup, but mainly I want to talk about the ACC media’s preseason prediction for the Hokies (which I think is a blessing in disguise) and setting expectations for the season.
Projected Starting Lineup
Because of so many starting caliber players being on the roster, it’s hard to say what Buzz Williams’ starting five will be against Maine. We’re certain that Kerry Blackshear won’t play in the opener, so that rules him out. Here’s my initial guess…
