Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA) senior defensive end Patrick Jones II revealed via Twitter that he will announce his college choice on Wednesday, December 2. Jones will graduate from Grassfield in December and enroll at the school he chooses in January of 2016.

Three ACC schools — NC State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech — appear to be the top contenders for the 6’5″, 230-pound prospect, who helped Grassfield to an 8-4 overall record in 2015. Jones has visited Virginia Tech several times, including an official visit in October. He traveled to Pittsburgh this past weekend and is scheduled to take an official to NC State this coming weekend.

Hmmm… A day after the rumored day of announcement of our new coach.
I imagine Bud has continued recruitment, and the kid HAS visited VT multiple times. Hasn’t even been to NC State yet, Pitt only once, I like our chances!
I would assume that he’s committing somewhere else? Hard to imagine that he would commit to a school next week without knowing who his coach would be. Hopefully an announcement next week of a new coach will help.
