Position Changes for Caleb and Nijman

Virginia Tech has announced two position changes.  Joel Caleb will be moving from running back to wide receiver, while Yosuah Nijman is now an offensive tackle.

We alluded to the Joel Caleb move in yesterday’s TSL Pass article.  It gives him the best chance to get on the field, and it also allows the running backs who are going to contribute an opportunity to get more carries in practice.

The Yosuah Nijman move is no major surprise, either.  He’s 6-7, 265, and many have thought for a long time that he has a better future as an offensive tackle.  He will likely redshirt this season, but he is now at his most ideal position moving forward.

  1. Pretty sure you actually mentioned the Caleb move rather than just alluding to it…in fact, it was discussed quite a bit.
