TSL Video: Offensive Coaches and Players, Week 2

The media met with Stacy Searels, Zohn Burden, Isaiah Ford, Cam Phillips, Wade Hansen and Eric Gallo on Tuesday.  Tonight we’ve have 20 minutes worth of video interviews with those guys, plus a few short notes.

Note #1: Michael Brewer isn’t practicing because of undisclosed injury.  Remember, he missed a chance to start as a r-sophomore at Texas Tech because of a back injury.  For now, everybody is in a wait-and-see mode.  If he doesn’t scrimmage on Saturday, I’ll be concerned.

Note #2: Stacy Searels seems more confident than last year about his starting offensive line, though much less so about his depth.  He had very nice things to say about projected starting center Eric Gallo.

Note #3: Wade Hansen put on 20 pounds in the offseason to get up to 300.  Remember, he wasn’t moved to offensive tackle until late August, so he’s still very new to the position.  The r-senior is slated to start at right tackle this year.

Note #4: Wide receivers coach Zohn Burden and sophomore wideouts Isaiah Ford and Cam Phillips made it a point to say that blocking is being emphasized this spring.  When Burden first arrived, he showed the wide receivers a tape of all their run blocking miscues last season.

Enjoy the videos below, and we’ll have more stuff coming tomorrow.
