Tremaine Edmunds is one of the best linebackers in the nation, and that notion was strengthened on Monday as Edmunds was named a Third-Team All-American by the Associated Press.
After a stellar sophomore season, Edmunds’ 2017 campaign continued to impress. He finished the 2017 regular season with 102 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Edmunds was also named a finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top linebacker each season.
Edmunds, a junior, has an NFL decision to make after the season. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker is a potential high-round draft pick, and ranks 13th on ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper’s Big Board. ESPN NFL Draft expert Todd McShay has Edmunds ranked 31st on his list of prospects.
