While covering the ACC Kickoff last week, media members credentialed to the event voted for their preseason predictions in the Coastal and Atlantic divisions, and also voted on the preseason all-conference team. Well those results are out, and it’s not particularly surprising.

Virginia Tech placed three members on the All-ACC team, including wide receiver Cam Phillips, offensive guard Wyatt Teller and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. The Hokies’ three members are tied with Florida State and NC State, but behind Clemson (5) and Miami (4).

Here is the full list of the 2017 preseason All-ACC team…

All-ACC Offense

QB Lamar Jackson, Louisville

RB Mark Walton, Miami and Dedrick Mills, Georgia Tech

WR Deon Cain, Clemson, Ahmmon Richards, Miami and Cam Phillips, Virginia Tech

TE Cam Serigne, Wake Forest

OG Tyrone Crowder, Clemson and Wyatt Teller, Virginia Tech

C Alec Eberle, Florida State

All-ACC Defense

DT Christian Wilkins, Clemson and Dexter Lawrence, Clemson

Other than the three who made the All-ACC team, Virginia Tech also had a couple other players come close. Safety Terrell Edmunds finished third in voting behind James and Blanding, albeit many votes behind. Running back Travon McMillian finished fourth in voting behind Walton, Mills and Jacuqes Patrick.

  1. Maybe picking FSU over Clemson isn’t as smart as thought? 2 All Star DTs will go a LONG way on defense, and 2 all stars on the OL will go a long way on O.

Combine that with the great recruiting they’ve had, and reloading shouldn’t be TOO tough.
