A three-star prospect from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Arena was one of four offensive linemen the Hokies signed in 2023. He didn’t play last fall, taking a redshirt year. He’ll have four years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
Despite Arena’s departure, Tech will still have 16 offensive linemen in the program once the summer enrollees arrive. The Hokies are around 86 scholarships overall and will still need more attrition in the coming days to reach the 85-man scholarship limit.
I wish him the best wherever he lands next. If he did get cut I guess that could be a positive sign for the team or at least the OL. It’s been a long time since we could afford to lose any offensive lineman.
Gabriel, thank you for choosing the Hokies. I am sorry that things didn’t turn out as planned. I wish you well at your new destination. Go Hokies!
We wish you all the best!
Any connection to a transfer portal OT that VT is targeting in the portal?
If they get paid like pros in this world of NIL, I guess they get cut like pros do.
They always did
“Unexpected turn of events”? Details to come…
Best of luck to Mr. Arena moving forward.
He got cut. Welcome to the new world of college football
Yep 2-4 more coming. We aren’t done on the buy side
There have always been cuts. The portal just makes it more visible.
Good luck at your next stop young man.
