Beckett has already been removed from the online roster.
Beckett, a sophomore from Chesapeake, Va., played a big role on Tech’s special teams units in 2016 and so far in 2017. Beckett was elevated to the No. 2 mike linebacker role officially in the spring, and served in that role behind Andrew Motuapuaka this season. Beckett recorded six total tackles in 2016 in limited playing time, but had not recorded a tackle officially in 2017.
What did he do?
#1 – Ricky, do you know/can you tell: (a) is this fixable before this season is over?
or (b) is his season over and a year wasted?
#2 – (a) do they burn Dylan Rivers redshirt and move him up?
(b) haven’t heard much about DR’s progress; any insight? (is he close to “ready?”)
thanks. Go Hokies!
Waiting for a court date/ruling?
There is no record available that shows Beckett has been charged or accused of any crime.
WOW..must be damned serious to have gone that far that far….MUCH more than a “little weed” or something, I would imagine…..
Must behave when donors are paying for you to attend college.
He’s not coming back.
WHAT???You mean ever?? WTF???
WOW – really need Dax/Artis now…
What is the difference between being suspended indefinitely and
being kicked off the team??
Loss of scholarship?
Give you a chance to fix your problem?
Virginia Tech has not dismissed Beckett entirely, but he is, for lack of a better term, temporarily dismissed. The wording allows VT to bring him back if the situation calls for it. If VT were to dismiss Beckett and then bring him back, it wouldn’t look very good.
