Ohio State has extended a scholarship offer to Columbus (OH) Bishop Ready senior Brady Taylor, a 6’5″, 280-pound offensive tackle prospect and Virginia Tech commitment. Taylor will take an official visit to the Big 10 powerhouse this weekend.

“My family and I think the visit is necessary,” Taylor wrote in a text message last night, referring to the OSU trip. He still plans to take an official visit to Virginia Tech as well, and that trip is scheduled take place the weekend of January 24-26.

The Bishop Ready star, a first-team all-state performer as a senior, pledged to the Hokies over Kentucky in July of 2013. He seemed firm in his commitment last week in an interview with TSL, saying he had basically “stayed away” from other schools that were trying to pursue him since his original pledge. Certainly, though, the Ohio State offer has given him something to think about.

Taylor is currently one of five offensive line prospects in Virginia Tech’s class of 2014. Tech’s four other recruits are likely to play on the interior of the line, while Taylor is the only sure-fire tackle.
