Woodbridge (VA) junior Da’Shawn Hand was in Blacksburg last Saturday, visiting Virginia Tech for the third time this year.
“I just wanted to go and see a live scrimmage there,” said Hand, who previously attended Tech’s Spring Game (which was cancelled) and one-day camp in June. “I met some players. I met a lot of the players. I got to talk to the coaches again.”
After speaking with the 6’5″, 245-pound defensive end shortly after his June visit, it was clear that Bud Foster had made a big-time first impression. Hand continues to be impressed with the longtime Virginia Tech defensive coordinator, something that certainly bodes well as far as the Hokies being a major player throughout this race.
“Coach Foster is still my favorite coach in recruiting,” Hand said. “But I still don’t have a top group of schools or anything like that.”
