Virginia Tech is one of a handful of major Division 1 programs to offer George Washington (Danville, VA) junior forward C.J. Barksdale , who made several unofficial visits to Blacksburg last month. The 6-7, 225-pound prospect is in no rush to make a decision, though, as he prepares for what he hopes will be a big 2009/2010 season.

“I still have an open mind,” Barksdale said. “I’m not paying much mind to [recruiting] right now. When it is time, I’ll get to it. Right now, I still have an open mind.”

Barksdale averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks per game last season as a junior. Alongside fellow top junior prospects Daniel Clark (6-8 forward) and Paul Stone (6-5 guard), Barksdale hopes to help the Eagles varsity basketball squad to a state championship.
