Antone Exum has performed extremely well in his senior season, leading Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) to an 8-0 record heading into a big-time district match-up against the Hermitage Panthers tomorrow night. The 6-0, 200-pound athlete has gotten the job done in all areas, scoring touchdowns passing, rushing and on special teams.

“I’m surrounded by good people and also good players and good coaches,” Exum said. “I’m not really focusing much on individual accolades. I’m just playing the game and trying to win games and I’m happy with where we are at right now. I’m really proud of the whole program. Winning a state championship is our main goal. We have an important game this week. If we don’t win, there is a heavy chance we might not make the playoffs. I’m happy with where we are at right now, mainly because we haven’t lost a game.”

When his recruiting process first began, most college coaches envisioned Exum as a defensive back or wide receiver on the next level. As a result of his performance in what is his second year as Deep Run’s starting signal caller, the central Virginia star is garnering more looks as a potential college quarterback.
