The end of the spring signing period did not prevent Virginia Tech head coach Seth Greenberg from adding to his 2007 class. Today, Coach Greenberg and company landed Valley High School (Las Vegas, NV) point guard Hank Thorns , who announced his decision to attend Virginia Tech at an afternoon press conference.

Thorns chose the Hokies over an offer from Old Dominion and interest from Kentucky, Nevada-Reno and Virginia. He will sign non-binding scholarship papers today, but plans on sticking with his decision.

“I’m committed to Virginia Tech,” Thorns said. “I’m very excited. I plan on attending summer school on July 1st. I’m extremely excited about it.
