Davis Shines at UVa’s Camp

Eleanor Roosevelt (Greenbelt, MD) prospect Will Davis enjoyed his time at UVa’s summer camp session last weekend. The 6-3, 215 pound Davis worked out as a wide receiver and safety for the Cavaliers. Rated the number one receiver at the camp, he ran a 4.5 flat in the 40 yard dash.

“The [UVa] camp was great,” Davis said. He has also been to Maryland and BC camps. “I had a great time and I really liked the coaching staff. I worked with the wide receivers and Coach Garrett mostly the whole time. I did some drills as a safety too. I think things went really well. They rated me as the number one receiver there.”

Davis currently holds one Division I-A scholarship offer – from Kent State. He is receiving interest from Marshall, Syracuse, Pitt, Miami, and Florida in addition to Maryland, Boston College, and UVa. Coach Al Groh met with Davis following the camp and informed him where he stands with the Cavaliers.

“Basically, Coach Groh and Coach Garrett told me they have a lot of offers out there,” Davis said. “They have the most commits of anyone in the country. They said I’m high on their list and that they will have a meeting to discuss things.”
