MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A new play has jumped to the top of the Hokies fan base’s collective misery. 

What was initially ruled a Da’Quan Felton Hail Mary touchdown reception as time expired Friday night at No. 7 Miami was overruled by what seems like a flawed replay system. It felt a lot like the Danny Coale catch in the 2012 Sugar Bowl — in more ways than one.

Like the Coale play, a controversial call at the end got all the attention, but also like that cursed Sugar Bowl, it overshadowed a litany of mistakes/missed opportunities that brought into play what felt like a replay overstep by the officials on a game-deciding play.
