Drones, Hokies Offense Improving But Still Looking To Hit Stride With Rutgers On Tap

Coaches typically don’t like to see their quarterback take any unnecessary hits, though Virginia Tech big whistle Brent Pry makes an exception when it comes to Kyron Drones.

The Hokies signal-caller lowered the boom on a few helpless Old Dominion defensive backs last week, shedding a tackle at the line on one run, throwing a forearm shiver down the field and trucking one last defender before finally going out of bounds.

The final tally: Three broken tackles, two ODU defenders on their butts and a 53-yard gain. 

To Pry, that’s well worth this particular quarterback not going out of bounds earlier or looking to slide.
