On offense, sure. That was Kyron Drones’ first career start. But on defense, the Hokies hadn’t solved their run-fit problems and were eventually overwhelmed by a relentless Scarlet Knights rushing attack that wore them down into submission.
Tech’s hoping it’s more ready for the fight this time when Rutgers comes to Blacksburg on Saturday.
“Do I think we’re better prepared? Yes,” Hokies head coach Brent Pry said. “Do I think we’re stronger? Do I think we’re more physical? Do I think we’re playing more sound? Yes. Better technique? Yes.”
