NORFOLK — Some football coaches might cringe at bringing up past failures. The past is the past in this forward-thinking profession, after all, one that’s so blinders-on focused that even triumphs are only to be celebrated for 24 hours before everyone has to turn the page.
Besides, who’d want to revisit all those bad memories in Virginia Tech’s history of failure at S.B. Ballard Stadium, where two of the most jarring losses in recent program history took place, including a personal one to Brent Pry, whose maroon and orange debut went awry in this very stadium?
Well, the Hokies’ big whistle would, apparently.
“It was all Coach Pry talked about,” quarterback Kyron Drones said.
