Practice Report: Hokies Looking Back At Purdue To Help Scout Marshall’s Offense

For the second straight week, Virginia Tech’s defense will be facing an opponent with a new offensive scheme, though this one has some familiarity for the Hokies.

Marshall will bring its version of the Air Raid into Lane Stadium on Saturday, with new offensive coordinator Seth Doege, a quarterback back in his playing days at Texas Tech for one of the scheme’s godfathers, Mike Leach.

The Hokies might take their cues for what to expect from a game last year, though: Doege was the tight ends coach for Purdue on an offense coordinated by another Leach acolyte, Graham Harrell.
