Virginia Tech football hosted three official visitors last weekend. We’ll discuss those three visitors and talk about one bigger recruiting topic.

Three Players Visit Blacksburg

Three prospects made their way to Blacksburg for their official visits this past weekend: a major in-state safety target and two wide receiver targets from the state of North Carolina.

Messiah Delhomme is a four-star safety prospect from Warwick High School in Newport News, Va. He has a final six of the Hokies, Alabama, Maryland, Ohio State, Syracuse and UVa. I don’t see him ending up at Maryland, Syracuse or UVa; my guess is that the Crimson Tide and Buckeyes are Tech’s primary competition.

As of now, he has official visits scheduled to Maryland, Ohio State and UVa. Near as I can tell, he has yet to announce any official visits to Syracuse or Alabama. The Crimson Tide already has a commitment from a four-star safety while Ohio State has commitments from a pair of three-star safeties — and is pursuing Faheem Delane heavily (as are the Hokies). A commitment from Delane to Ohio State could help Virginia Tech with Delhomme, ironically.
