This year in many ways is a new beginning for Lake Taylor (Va.) offensive tackle Keyonte Arrington. He’s healthy, he’s on a new team, and he has a new outlook.

Arrington began his high school career at Maury, but had his freshman season altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic that postponed the 2020 season to the following spring. But Arrington tore his meniscus before the season started, which put him out for not only that spring, but the following season in the fall of 2021. Looking for a recruiting jumpstart, he transferred to IMG Academy (Fla.) in January of 2022 before heading back to Norfolk – this time to Lake Taylor – in September of 2022.

2022 happened to be his first and only season of high school football due to COVID and his injury. At 6 feet, 8 inches and 365 pounds, he commands plenty of attention, but the lack of experience has slowed Arrington’s recruitment somewhat. He claims 10 scholarship offers, which has given him a base to build on as he heads into his senior season.
