Boston College Study: Inexperienced Offensive Line Holds Back Offense

Boston College is still a deep-ball offense with some pro-style tendencies, like using two-TE formations and having those big guys swap around to create confusion in the defense. On the other hand, they’re running no-huddle, which hasn’t been a staple for them of late.

Talent-wise, it’s still mainly the Phil and Flow’ Show, strong-armed quarterback Phil Jurkovec (#5) and electric receiver Zay Flowers (#4) leading the way:

Jurkovec is big enough to shrug off smaller rushers and deft enough to maneuver in the pocket, as seen here. He wasn’t sharp against Rutgers, though that might have more to do with his protection than anything else.

Meanwhile, Flowers has phenomenal speed and agility, and is also a running threat on sweeps. I’m hoping he again gets a case of the drops for this game, though he’s been looking pretty sure-handed going back to the end of last season:
