Virginia Tech Running Backs: How Will They Be Used?

Virginia Tech lost Raheem Blackshear to the Buffalo Bills, while every other major contributor at running back returns for the 2022 season. Stu Holt joined the staff as running backs coach in December, too.

Before coaching the tight ends at Louisville, he coached five Appalachian State running backs to 1,000 yard seasons over the course of four years (no, that’s not a typo…it really was five in four seasons). What can Holt and the rest of the offensive coaching staff do with the current running back corps? The Hokies have a group where each player is a bit different, and the competition should remain strong for playing time.
